Coming from a background in education, Muge decided to pursue a career in medicine after realizing she could apply her skills and knowledge in a clinical setting. She said, “I enjoy educating patients on their disease and medications.”

She chose to specialize in rheumatology because she likes working with patients dealing with complex chronic diseases and helping them navigate different treatment options and challenges.

Muge values her patients’ trust and wants everyone to feel comfortable during their visit. “I try to find out their interests – whether it’s their grandkids, pets or hobbies, to connect with them,” she said.

A key reminder she likes to remind her patients is, “Always advocate for your health and do not hesitate to ask questions.”

When Muge isn’t working, she enjoys long-distance running, hiking, traveling to the mountains and national parks, playing with her dogs and spending time with her daughter. She has even completed an Ironman!
