Samantha Sweeney, M.D., specializes in family medicine at Utica Park Clinic. Her professional areas of interest include preventive care, women’s health and caring for people of all ages.

“My inspiration to pursue medicine stems from a strong desire to help my community. I have always been passionate about improving the health and well-being of those around me. Witnessing the challenges people face in accessing quality care ignited my commitment to make a difference,” she said.

Dr. Sweeney chose to specialize in family medicine because of her deep passion of caring for others and the opportunity to serve all ages. “I believe in meeting each person where they are,” she said. “Family medicine allows me to work with children, adults and seniors and to fulfill my commitment to guide and motivate my patients as they navigate their path to better health.”

Dr. Sweeney understands the value of building relationships with patients and does so by giving them her full attention. She said, “I focus on actively listening to their stories, which helps me understand their unique backgrounds, concerns and preferences. By giving them space to share, I demonstrate that their experiences matter.”

The key advice she continues to remind patients is to exercise daily. “Getting up and moving regularly is so good for our health,” she said.

When Dr. Sweeney isn’t working, she enjoys going on long-distance runs and spending time outside with family. She adds, “We love to camp, kayak and work in our garden. We’ve just started raising animals and have loved learning new skills.”
