About Peggy Moore-Gardner, APRN-CNP
Peggy Moore-Gardner, APRN-CNP, specializes in family medicine. โI have spent most of my professional career working in rural areas,โ said Peggy. โI have an understanding of the challenges faced by people who live in rural areas. I feel it is important for patients to have the same access to care in rural areas as it is in metropolitan areas.โ
Peggy began working in a nursing home at the age of 16. โAt that time, we were trained on the job. I loved taking care of people and felt a calling to go to LPN (licensed practical nurse) school, from there I went on to college to obtain my RN (registered nurse). I worked as an RN in multiple areas and was inspired by opportunity for growth. As a nurse practitioner, I am inspired daily by the health issues my patients overcome and am honored to participate in their care,โ she said.
Peggy says one of the key ways she likes to build relationships with patients is to simply listen. โPatients want to be heard. By listening to their concerns, together we can come up with a plan to optimize their health,โ she said.
Peggy encourages patients to be the best versions they can be by being involved and taking charge of their health. From medical conditions and current medications to family history, she emphasizes how these are simple ways to be a part of oneโs health journey.
When Peggy isnโt working at the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her large family, attending church, gardening, caring for her chickens, craft projects, and going to auctions and estate sales.
