About Katie Gasaway, PA-C

Katie Gasaway, PA-C, specializes in general cardiology at Oklahoma Heart Institute.

Katie decided to pursue a career in cardiology because it was the one specialty that captured her attention during PA (physician assistant) school. “During my clinical year, I completed a rotation at the Oklahoma Heart Institute, where I was able to learn hands-on, work closely with inspiring mentors, and see how meaningful cardiac care is in patients’ lives. That experience deepened my passion for cardiology and confirmed that this was the field where I wanted to build my career,” she said.

Katie believes that building strong relationships with patients starts with listening. “I make it a priority to connect on a personal level and create a comfortable, open environment where patients feel heard and never rushed. I’m always willing to answer questions, and I focus on helping patients clearly understand their health so they feel confident in becoming their healthiest selves,” she said.

“One of the biggest pieces of advice for patients is to always be open and honest with their provider,” said Katie. “The more we understand about everything going on, the better we can tailor care to each individual. Our goal as a provider is to do what is best for each individual patient’s health.”

When Katie isn’t working, she enjoys staying active, being outdoors, reading, and spending time with her friends and family.
