About Roger K. Pfeiffer, D.O.

Roger K. Pfeiffer, D.O., specializes in obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) at Utica Park Clinic.

Dr. Pfeiffer’s decision to become an OB-GYN provider happened early in his career while he was still in medical school and his wife had a baby. He was studying to become a trauma surgeon, something he decided on when he was just 12-years-old walking home from his first CPR class. He was instantly hooked on medicine and continued to follow his dream career of being a trauma surgeon until one day he changed course.

“My wife and I had our first child when I was in medical school,” he said. “I was still really focused on trauma surgery. Our experience was less than ideal, and I walked out of the hospital saying to myself, ‘I think I could do better than that.’ So, I changed emphasis and went to OB-GYN.”

Fast forward and now Dr. Pfeiffer has been a practicing OB-GYN since 2005.

He likes to build relationships with patients based on the simple foundation of listening, understanding and communication. “This all leads to trust and what is more important in this type of relationship?” He adds, “In the end of the day we are all people and want to be heard and respected.”

Dr. Pfeiffer says out of all the advice he likes to give his patients, the one to take away is, “We worry about what we can control. We play the cards we are dealt the best we can.”
