About Cashel Newhouse, M.D.

Cashel Newhouse, M.D., specializes in pediatrics at Utica Park Clinic (UPC).

“Pediatrics requires not only a relationship with your patient but of course the parents or caregivers as well. There is a lot of reassurance and working through questions that the families have, especially with newborns and young children. I love seeing families over the span of many years and watching the kids grow up. I especially love when I get to see the infants of my former patients,” said Dr. Newhouse.

Dr. Newhouse’s inspiration for a career in medicine began after pursuing her interest of science in school. She added, “Medicine seemed a great way to work in a field that not only helps people but also keeps me engaged with new advancements and is a way to continue lifelong learning.”

Pediatrics quickly became her specialty of choice once she realized the joy it brought her. Dr. Newhouse said, “I fell in love with pediatrics during my rotations in medical school and couldn’t imagine any other field that would be so rewarding, not to mention fun!”

When it comes to advice or reminders, Dr. Newhouse said, “Sometimes a parent just needs to hear that they are doing a good job. It is hard to raise children in this day and age with so much conflicting information, and there is no perfect way to parent. What works for one family may not work for another.”

Outside of work, Dr. Newhouse enjoys spending time with her husband and daughters, reading, cooking and travelling.
