About Susanna McDaniel, APRN-CNP

Susanna McDaniel, DNP, APRN-CNP, is a nurse practitioner who specializes in surgical oncology and speaks fluent American Sign Language (ASL).

Susanna has known since she was a little girl that she wanted to join the health care field. She remembered always being fascinated with the human body and seeking out opportunities to learn more about it. “I can remember my mom taking me to the library and I would find books on human anatomy and read them.” She added, “I’ve always had a heart for helping and caring for people. My career choice just came naturally!”

Susanna chose adult gerontology acute care because she loves working and caring for older adults. “I find myself intrigued with the aging process and how we can improve our health to live longer,” she said, adding, “I like to take time with them and get to know them. Sometimes they just want someone to listen to them. A listening ear can go a long way when someone is ill.”

Every day, Susanna looks forward to connecting and caring for her patients. “This isn’t just a job for me; it’s an honor and a calling. One that I have the pleasure of waking up and doing every day,” she said.

Outside of working at the clinic, Susanna enjoys spending time with her family going camping, to the beach and playing board games. She also enjoys a good book and gardening.
