About Jacob Batterton, PA-C

Jacob Batterton, PA-C, specializes in orthopedic surgery at Hillcrest Hospital South. His professional areas of interest include sports medicine, particularly ligament repair and shoulder replacements.

Jacob’s interest in medicine began when he was young. He grew up watching his grandparents go to several of their own doctor’s appointments and spend time in and out of the hospital. He found health care fascinating and knew he wanted to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

As time evolved and Jacob pursued his degree to become a physician assistant (PA), he quickly found a specialty he enjoyed. “I did a clinic rotation with Utica Park Clinic orthopedics in PA school and was interested in how much of a difference they made in their patients’ lives,” he said.

Now, as a provider, he makes a point of connecting with his patients by actively listening and involving them in shared decision-making. This allows for transparency and a better overall experience for his patients in their care process.

When it comes to sharing a piece of advice with his patients, he always encourages everyone to stay active.

Outside of work, Jacob enjoys spending time with friends, family and his dog. “I like being outdoors, hunting and working on cars,” he added.
