About Alex Heinze, PA-C

Alex Heinze, PA-C, specializes in urology at Utica Park Clinic. Her professional areas of interest include urogynecology, urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse.

“While I didn’t always know that I wanted to go into medicine, I’ve always known that I wanted to help people in some way, somehow. My interest in medicine began after working with a girls orphanage in Haiti as a teenager, where I saw just how much of a need there was for health care providers, specifically those in women’s health,” Alex said.

“My experiences in Haiti quickly made me realize that many women around the world lack proper health education, especially when it comes to their pelvic health. I took an interest in gynecology and female urology as a result. I realized how challenging it can be to ask questions and seek help when it comes to sensitive women’s health concerns, and I wanted to be a provider that patients could comfortably come to with these problems. I chose to specialize in pelvic floor disorders in order to assure patients of all ages that their concerns regarding their pelvic health do not hold them back from participating in activities they enjoy,” Alex said.

When it comes to building relationships with patients, she makes it a point to actively listen. Alex said this key factor helps in creating a comfortable environment and encourages patients to feel their best.

Advice that Alex likes to remind and share with patients is, “Just because what you are experiencing may seem common, doesn’t make it normal. Always advocate for yourself even if you think there is nothing that can fix it – chances are, there is!”

Outside of work, Alex enjoys exercising, spending time with family, traveling and watching basketball and football.
