About Megan Renz, APRN-CNS

Megan Renz, APRN-CNS, specializes in general adult gerontology cardiology at Oklahoma Heart Institute.

Megan decided to get into health care because she has always enjoyed caring for others. “My high school and college jobs were centered around caring for other people. When it was time to pick a major, I could not see myself doing anything else,” Megan said.

She began her nursing career working in the cardiovascular intensive care unit because Megan found the heart fascinating. She eventually went back to college to get her master’s degree, where she continued to focus on cardiology to help further her interests, profession and care for others.

Now, Megan aims to provide quality care by tending to each individual person as a whole, listening to their questions and concerns in hopes to better understand their situation.

“Having a trusting relationship with your health care provider is something I have found is important to people and I want to be able to provide that for them,” Megan said.

When it comes to staying healthy, Megan said staying active is important. She suggests finding an activity you enjoy and try to reach a goal of 30 minutes a day, for five days a week.

When Megan is not working at the hospital, she can be found enjoying a nice walk and going on trips to the beach with her family.
